Beer and books to browse at leisure at Beerwolf Books in Falmouth

I’ve always dreamed about opening a cool cafe/bar with shelves of books to browse at leisure and buy at will. So I was one happy customer when I recently discovered Beerwolf Books, a rather lovely little establishment in Falmouth that has gone and made my dream a reality.

You’ll find it tucked up a ferrety little alleyway in the cobbled refines of Bells Court, a place steeped in history having been the Packet Agent’s office at the time of the 1810 mutiny.

Today, climb up the stairs and you’ll find a ‘spit and sawdust’ style interior, all rough wood and mismatched furniture, wooden panelled walls and vintage cinema seats. At the bar you’ll find a distinctly ‘Cornish’ welcome and a whole host of delicious ciders and beers. I found myself inexplicably drawn to Fanny’s Bramble, a berry and apple brew, which didn’t disappoint.

At the back, there’s the library, stuffed to the ceiling with all manner of tomes. Grab something to browse or buy it and take it home. And be sure to keep an eye on the events calendar for the music and literary events on offer.
